It's no secret that I'm a popcorn addict. I just find that it's the perfect snack and I can make it salty or sweet depending on how I'm feeling. Typically I just like coconut oil and pink sea salt but lately I've been getting creative.
I've decided to share a popcorn recipe once a month. I have a feeling it'll be a challenge, however I'm really excited about all the new combos!
Which brings us to this month's flavour: Garlic Bread. I have no idea why this didn't come to me sooner. Who doesn't like garlic bread? I mean, come on! I was inspired by a friend who told me she added rosemary to her popcorn and then it just snowballed from there.
Here's the recipe:
1/2 cup organic kernels
1/2 t +2 T coconut oil
1 clove of garlic (pressed)
1/2 t rosemary (crushed)
1/2 t black pepper
1/2 t pink salt
Add 1/2 teaspoon of coconut into the Whirley Pop with the kernels over medium heat until all the kernels are popped. Add two tablespoons of coconut oil, garlic, rosemary and pepper and melt in the microwave or over low heat in a saucepan. Pour over popped kernels as is or strain it if you don't want garlic pieces in your popcorn. Add the salt* and enjoy!
*I like to add the salt last, so it doesn't melt into the coconut oil but you could add it into the coconut oil mix if you like.
This will make a Courtenay sized bowl... So enough for 2-3 to share.
You are welcome!
