Snack Time Woes

In the past few weeks I've been trying to be more conscious about what I'm putting in this body of mine. Currently I'm also sustaining a tiny human so I've tried to be mindful of what I eat because, inevitably she'll get some too.

I've developed a little 3 o'clock habit which I affectionately call latte time. It consists of my sweet babe having a nap, and me having a latte and raiding my fridge/freezer for treats.

While I fully believe, and stand behind the statement treat yoself, I think it's time for this lady to reel it in!

I've been looking for good snack options because, let's be real, I'm going to snack. And my dark chocolate freezer stash is getting dangerously low-- I need options! I've found a few winners so far.

I was given the Oh She Glows cookbook for Christmas and it's sort of been decorating my counter since then. But! It has been opened and I've been making all the yummy things.

This Glo bar is not only delicious but is packed with so much goodness to fuel the body and satisfy your sweet tooth. It is a big hit over here! Norrie's even taking them to work, which is crazy because he doesn't even like granola bars.

He's more of a Lucky Charms bar kinda guy and if you don't know what those are, they're pretty much just sugar on processed sugar.

I've made both her versions, but since I'm not vegan I used honey instead of brown rice syrup. They turned out perfectly!

One of my friends was on a juice cleanse last week so I asked if I could have some of the leftover pulp. Lots of fibre in there, and truthfully I felt like it would help me benefit even though I didn't actually participate in the cleanse. I used her leftovers to make Juice Pulp Muffins

These muffins turned out well. I baked them in mini muffin tins and they seemed to cook better. I also added a few extra bananas since I had them hanging out in the freezer. These guys are definitely kid approved and Courtenay approved.

What are your favourite recipes for those hangry moments? I want to set myself up for success because another one of my goals at the moment is to find my abs... I know they're in there somewhere. I'm sure they're hiding at my favourite bakery in Fort Langley, I'll look there tomorrow.
